The day-to-day at Microsoft is pretty standard, Gema said, there's a lot of emphasis on work-life balance at Microsoft and she said although she has stayed late when she had tight deadlines, she's following the lead of her supervisor who does the same. ![]() We've written about Gema's first gig at LA Fitness, and also her entrance into the Microsoft LEAP program, which helped her segue into her current role there. After studying for the LSAT and realizing that the legal job market isn't all that it's cracked up to be, especially for recent law school graduates, she decided to attend a coding bootcamp so she could apply her love for logic in a setting that would allow her to create and build things. She had been encouraged to go into computer science or math as a college student, but her initial goal was to become a lawyer. Gema was inspired to become a software developer because she has always liked logic. Specifically, Gema is a Software Engineer I working on the Bing Experience within Cortana in the Windows codebase.
